Vol 5:... it's too painful... Akemi died... Tetsu died... Atsushi died... Chise almost died as well... she left the SDF and came to look for Shuji... she left for Fuyuumi Tetsu's last things... Fuyuumi tried for the last time to use Shuji as Tetsu's replacement and gave up and left as Shuji saw visions of Akemi yelling at him and stopped... the worst thing about this manga is... it's so painful... it's so true... this really is what happens in war struck countries and places... we live each day happily, crying laughing over silly thing that don't even matter all that much while people somewhere die... makes one see how very very useless the things we think are so important are... I hated where Akemi died so helplessly.. and also Tetsu... I didn't want him to die.. not this helplessly... at least he should have lived... he who treated Chise like a normal girl who cared for so much... I wish he'd have lived a bit longer... at least Chise granted him his final wish... Atsushi... who came to war just to be able to protect Akemi... Akemi who loved Shuji all this time... it's just so sad... makes me feel how important it is to let people know how you feel for them while you still can... in such a short life, in such a short time... if you can just live happily with the people you treasure isn't that just enough...

Vol 4: Atsushi who loved Akemi went and confessed to her, she at first refused, then accepted him. Chise and Shuji still are in love but apart, Tetsu is the only survivor of Chise's old platoon that died the day she took leave for Shuji's sake... Atsuhi has joined the SDF to be able to protect Akemi in the same place where Chise is although they haven't faced each other yet. Atsushi is devastated by all the suffirings of the war and Tetsu tries to help him out in his own way, when they see a person pass by Tetsu goes after to see who it is and finds out it's Chise crying alone, Tetsu takes Chise and spend time with her as normal people would when not in war... they go shopping *stealing in Chise's words* eat ramen and watch movies together and even kiss...and Chise tells him she's letting all this happen cause he's gonna die soon...

I didn't expect this manga to be this sad... I'm feeling awful reading this... complex feelings and conflicting emotions along with the sadness of war... what a deep storyline... the writer must be someone who had a lot of feelings in their heart...

Vol 3: Shuji spent the night with Fuyuumi when she came to him wounded... while Chise waited for him at the observation deck... Chise found out about him being with Fuyuumi and was in so much pain, Shuji finally came, and told the story of himself, Fuyuumi and Tetsu, that just hurt her more, the fact that she cannot have a normal life a normal boyfriend just tore at her even more than before and so she decided to go back to being friends, both were exhausted, both wanted to not hurt each other anymore, both wanted to end the pain... and both are still in love and hurting... I wonder how it's gonna end... she took the day off for Shuji's sake and her comrades died in battle waiting for her to come help in vain...

Vol 2: Shuji's first love Fyuumi... her husband's always away on war and she spends her time in loneliness crying for him. When Chise asked about his first love, Shuji was confused... and then he meets Fyuumi again. Chise turning more powerful each day as a weapon, her skin has turned cold she wonders how much of her has left as a human, but she still wants to live for Shuji.. Fyuumi in her loneliness tries to make Shuji spent the night with her when he goes to get his bag from her house and sees her crying holding Tetsu's uniform, but the the love he has for Chise comes over and he stops her... meanwhile, Chise is on the battlefield crying... Tetsu comforts her...

The last chapter the class is about to have an emergency evacuation drill and before it's time for it to start Chise senses something and Shuji runs out to sound the alarm then comes back for her but she tells him to run away without her... she says... she's the threat since she doesn't know how her body will react to the big Earthquake that's approaching...

what a sad detiny for such a sweet girl...

I started this manga thinking it's just a silly war robot thing... how wrong I was... the first Vol finished just now... and I feel so sad... Chise who wanted to live like a normal girl and be with the guy she liked had to turn into a weapon... after sharing their dreams, after caring so much for each other... they still couldn't be together... the small and weak Chise who was growing up as a weapon and suffering from inside, he couldn't help her or save her from her destiny... Even though they wanted to escape it... I feel so sad for her... for Shuji too but more for her, having liked that guy for so long, having the courage to ask him out, spending time with each other, the sad moments, the happy moments and the awkward ones... sharing everything and then not being able to escape destiny... must hurt so much... I wonder how the next Vol will be like, I've decided from now on the write about Mnagas Vol by Vol as I do for anime episode by episode, it's not so detailed if I write after finishing a manga cause afterwards it just the final feeling that's overwhelming, the bits that I've felt before gets drowned in the last chapter so from now on it'll be Vol to Vol even if it's just 2 Vols...
