Finally the Holidays Start...

After a very hectic, what seemed like a year, finally, the holidays have started. True, they won't last long, it's just one month, that too will be the fasting month so the number of things I can do will be limited. I also decided to keep teaching my ESL classes since I unexpectedly had people showing up at my house asking to be taught during the holidays ._______. I immediately regretted after saying yes since I realised it meant I won't get to slack off and binge watch anime, sleep when I want, wake when I want and in short laze my life away for the month of June. But in a way it's a good thing, now I'll follow a proper time table to an extent. Now the things I need to do during this month...

1. Teach my ESL Class.
2. Make all the lesson plans for the entire year so I don't have to go crazy every month trying to find ways to plan new activities and ways of teaching.
3. I have to make a list of all the anime series I have in a proper alphabetical order in an excel file.
4. Record at least 3-4 song covers.
5. Make a list/index my anime merchandise collection so I know what the heck I even have.
6. Make a few karaoke video (if YouTube fails me) for my anime event.
7. Design at least 10 T-shirts.
8. Design at least 15 Mugs.
9. Make at least 20 Calender.
10. Make a bunch of wallpapers/posters in very high quality so that they can be used for printing.
11. Disinfect my laptop from the virus that has crept in from God knows where.
12. Finish or at least get close to finishing my PennFoster course.
13.  Clean up my room and organise it in such a way that I don't have to stress about cleaning during the year when work starts and I don't have time to even sleep.
14. Make sight words in a decorative and innovative way for my class.
15. List all my anime items on the Facebook Page.
16. Sell all my items from my Jade Dynasty account and hopefully close the account altogether.
17. Update and relist all the items from my account to my blog so people can buy.
18. Perfect my hiragana and get on to katakana.
19. Learn how to do mastering better.

...I pull up this huge list in my half asleep state... I wonder what I'll get if I was actually properly alert and awake -___-;; guess I'm not going to be taking it easy even during the holidays. I WILL, however, complete at least two series and 3 manga which I had been dying to try for a very long time now -.-;;

Time to sleep, to the voice of Susumu Hirasawa telling the story of Byakkoya no Musume.

though the lyrics are ever so slightly off/could be worded better in some parts, I find this video quite breathtaking and matching with the intensity of the song, not to mention of the movie from which the song itself came.

Found an epic Kaito/Kagamine Rin version as well

As a last thought that I got while looking up the videos to add to the post, I so despise when people say "You only like Japanese music because you understand what it's saying, we cannot like it when it's not in our language and we have no idea what it means". SO.NOT.TRUE! I used to have the Flame of Recca and Ninku opening and ending memorised when I didn't even know a word of Japanese. You needn't have a perfect fluency in Japanese to appreciate good music, there are things called subtitles, there are people who're willing to upload subtitled videos to help people who like music and want to understand what is it that's being said in the songs. Japanese music is beautiful, like a multifold story unfolding with each note, like a folklore full of mystery and wonder just waiting to be discovered by someone who'd be as excited listening to it as the one who made it was when he/she made it.
Be a little more open-minded, it's a huge wonderful word outside that you're missing out cause you're not willing to leave your norm and your comfortable, familiar zone.

Being an Anime Lover in a World where Anime is for 'Kids'

Yeah... I'm actually writing this post that I didn't think I'd ever have to write, being such a cliche topic -..-... So... my Institute is having a Festival of sorts and I wanted to have an Anime Awareness corner in there (everyone else doing Graphic Design/Handicrafts related things). I tried to show the other students in my institute an anime episode (Bleach Episode 1 English dubbed *gags*) expecting a good response since it was a shounen anime with a lot of humor and action that generally everyone ends up liking, and everyone being a graphic designer/animator I thought would be a great learning experience as well. That... crashed and burned -..-... Everyone made fun of/laughed or just simply talked through the still-in-Japanese opening, and then all through the episode the majority of the people (thankfully not all) were behaving like they were being forced to watch something utterly ridiculous. I don't think I felt this discouraged even when my best friend (Maddy) in the beginning laughed super hard at the manga I used to read all the time. It was like they had their minds already made up that it's something childish and not worth spending time on watching. The mere 25 minute episode felt 2 hour long with the subtle jokes/looking at cell phones/laptops and talking out loud instead of looking at the screen where the anime was being shown. I'm honestly discouraged. I miss my old Orkut group and I miss my JD best friend (VT) who was also Indian but was open minded enough to give anime a try (in Japanese with subs no less) and ending up liking it after all. The lack of response from people here was heartbreaking bad. I'm left thinking that if these people who're future animators and graphic designers are behaving like this, how the hell is my Anime Corner gonna end up in the festival in April... really discouraging...

I've watched anime since back in 1998 when they used to air 3x3 Eyes and Grander Musashi Flame of Recca and Ninku on AXN, back when there was no Toonami on the Cartoon Network in India and no one even knew what anime was. It feels like, after all these years, the people still don't know or even want to know.

I wonder how people can place anime as something that's meant for just children? I mean... this... :

is hardly something you'd want your children watching now is it...

I don't understand why people don't even 'try' to give something new a chance, maybe they'd end up liking it. I once again realized I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time, there isn't any like minded person around me and I highly doubt that in my city there ever will be as it so far...

Hontouni kodoku wa tsurai desu. Doesn't matter how huge of an anime collection I have, doesn't matter how much knowledge I have, I have no one in this place to share it with. Well my sister but she doesn't usually have time when I do so we hardly ever watch anything together, we just end up recommending stuff to each other. I honestly wish people would be more open minded.. T__T

Hisabisa ni! My LATEST Obsession ! Introducing... Gakupo!

VOCALOIDS!!!!!!

So I discovered the world of Vocaloids quite by accident when I was searching for the song from Angel Beats called "My Song", I saw a suggest link on youtube showing a song named Last Song (Megurine Luka, She's AWESOME!), opened it, fell in love, wasted 2-3 hours looking up more related suggest links and falling deeper and then there was no saving me :x

For those who don't know, Vocaloids are this http://vocaloid.wikia.com/wiki/Vocaloid_Wiki

The world of Vocaloids is deep and intriguing *-* I found everything from deep to creepy to something that would move you to tears (Aku no Meshitsukai/Servant of Evil - Kagamine Len *I have no shame to say I cried like a baby while watching it) to historical stuff to Incest and Yaoi to Yuri even *for those who don't know what that means you're not old enough to be reading this go play Pokemon*.

Most of you must already know Hatsune Miku the green haired net Idol, but did you guys know there were way more cooler Vocaloids?

For instance this guy :

Yes yes and YES! within the MALE Vocaloids he's the absolute BEST! Kaito the blue haired cool one is a weeee bit too high pitched for my taste though he's funny as hell for the humorous videos and his own type of songs. But what Gakupo can pull off, Kaito for sure cannot :x (Sorry Kaito fans, I love him too but my true love remains as Gakupo)

Gakupo has the Classic Japanese sort of Ancient Samurai like look, his most (overused) popular song is Dancing Samurai, and THIS is the ORIGINAL non Vocaloided version of the same song :P Dancing Samurai Original . Take a hint. the voice bank for Gakupo was provided by Gackt ! how awesome is that !

Gakupo has amazingly deep vocals and can carry almost any sort of pitch. Apart from the Japanese songs, there are some AWESOME Gakupo Japanese covers of really popular English songs. My favourite among the people who make the covers is this guy Memzir, he's made the BEST Gakupo covers available on youtube. (apart from Last Night Good Night) like this song,,, SURPRISE LINK! let's see how many of you recognize that song lol. He for SURE made it waaaaay better haha.

(left blank space to add more when  I get the time to)

I'll be posting more awesome Vocaloid songs here along with a short intro about them, as I find them and as I get the time to :D My obsession is steadily growing and I want to infest more people with the Luka Luka Night Fever~ or in this case Vocaloid Fever *-*  currently I'm where my sister says I've turned into one of those Otakus in anime Lol!

Anime Quote - Escaflowne - Allen Schezar

Gonna start posting anime quotes that I design myself ^^ I've been thinking for a long time that I should but never really got around to it.. so to start off... my favorite from Escaflowne :

"hito wo shinjiru to iu koto wa toki ni ikusa ni nozomu yori yuuki no iru koto kamo shirimasen"
"Somtimes it takes more courage to believe in someone than to war"

Episode 10 -  Visions of Escaflowne - Allen Schezar.

I made it in a standard 800x600 pixel size. The pictures are from the screenshots of the anime opening song.

Nurarihyon No Mago~ Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan~ Sunshine

Have you ever started on an anime just cause of one song you like form it?

I let my 3 year old watch anime on Animax (Anime channel in India which ROCKS btw!) while I work, and while she was watching this one the opening song came up, I was watching something on my desktop and I froze, then watched the entire song, 2 minutes later I was watching the full episode with her xD

I searched it up and it seems very interesting ^-^ This is my next on to watch first priority anime on my list.

This is the song that caught my attention so deeply~

Sunshine by Monkey Majik (I seem to be drawn to songs by monkey named bands -.-; *Tactics  - The Yellow Monkey, Rurouni Kenshin anyone?*

Do visit the Up-loader's Channel at This URL :D
I love how the video's been put together, a lot of images match so stunningly perfect. The lyrics are off a bit like at 1:58 it's supposed to be Boku no yume wa nandatta no ka? but it says Boku no yume wa doko ni iru no ka? But despite the lyrics being off the picture of Nura deep in thought matches the line oh so well >.<!!

I love this song, I've listened to it over 25 times already. Such positive powerful lyrics making you feel emotional and lighter. Somehow feels like someone's pushing you to move forward. This anime is definitely going to be downloaded!

Izumo: Takeki Tsurugi no Senki ~ Episode 2 ~ Ikai-A Whole Different World/異界

Episode 2:
Upon waking up Takeru finds himself in a totally ruined version of the school building, he runs into Seri and Asuka and they search all over for Kotona and Takeshi with no results.

Meanwhile Takeshi wakes up and finds Kotona. He remembers seeing the woman from his dream right before they vanished. They suddenly hear a sound and see a swarm of huge bugs following them. Takeshi runs for the sword that he and Takeru touched before and fights the bugs off.

Meanwhile Takeru and the others are being chased by yet another bug that Seri kicks out and they make run from.

They all run into each other after escaping but yet another trouble was following, huge caped people(?) who try to get them and Takeshi and Kotona are caught as Takeshi Hesitates upon seeing the woman from his dream.

The leftover caped things were about to attack Takeru and suddenly some people come and rescue them. they're called by a miko to follow them, on the way they find the student council president Kitagwa as well who's apparently been teleported to this world along with them.

Takeshi wakes up to find himself with Kotona and a young guy challenging him to fight with him. The woman Takeshi been seeing comes up and intruduces herself as Himiko the one who controls what happens in the Ne world. she Welcomes him as the savior of that world.

The people who saved Takeru and the others explain that they're in a world where people who've died in thier world come to live (so much for Soul Society -_-;) and that they should rest because they have to move further ahead till it's safe. They fall asleep and then wake up to a sudden attack...

Yeah I'm still not totally into it ._. 12 episodes is too much to expect this turning into a better plot. + the art style is putting me off a lot >.<

Izumo: Takeki Tsurugi no Senki ~ Episode 1 ~ Yume no Yubigoe/夢の呼び声

Started with a guy fighting in a demonic world full of ogres and a priestess in the background calling. That honestly put me off it when I first started watching it so I dropped it and started off on others.Yagi Takeru has no family and lives with his adopted father, Touma Rokunosuke, the head of the house. There are many people around him (mostly girls) and his childhood friend Yamato Takeshi (see the play with names again? Yamato/Takeru showing as opposites again as in a lot of anime like; Digimon where Yamato and Takeru were brothers). They're leading a harmless happy life Takeru practices Kendou and Takeshi is the better one at it and Takeru always loses to him.One day the sword that's always been locked up in a case is accidentally left open and Takeru takes it out for fun and touches it same time as Takeshi does,
they see some weird images with both of them fighting and think it was a dream.

Meanwhile there's a new transfer student in school who happens to be Takeru's childhood friend who throws herself on him upon sight and declares he's her fiancee.
Next day Takeshi confesses he's having weird images and dreams and Takeru declares he's having the same ones.
Kendou tournament is coming up and form their school only one is supposed to be chosen which everyone thought would be Takeshi but Touma Rokunosuke surprizes both by saying it'll be Takeru and that he's keeeping his own strength low for the sake of not hurting Takeshi. Takeshi however refuses to accept it. Touma declares there will be a match and the winner will be representing the school.
Takeru defeats Takeshi shockingly, and Takeshi is mad about everyone concerning over him, he pushes Kotona (older of the Shiratori sisters who take care of Takeru and his dad) and Takeru comes running to save her. He and Takeshi start fighting and then something starts happening to all of them and with a flash of light everyone vanishes.

I'm not too impressed with it at the moment but hoping it'll not turn into another demon fighting harem anime =.=;
